I feel a little crazy right now in admitting this (because I’m so afraid to fail) but I’m going to train for a marathon. A full marathon IN HAWAII. I have until December 9th.
My friend has been pestering me to do the Hawaii half while he does the full. Turns out, THERE IS NO HALF. *gulp*
Sweaty run of the day done! Come to me, water, my precious.
There’s a Solstice Parade around Seattle today. If hundreds of people can do a naked bike ride, I can pull my ass together and run a few miles. Sheesh.
Easy, two mile run.
That’s what I accomplished this morning. There’s something extra motivating about new running shoes. My Mizunos are shouting to my soul to be broken in. I meant for a 5k to happen but I let myself delight a little longer than planned in a delicious dream. I may or may not be reading 50 Shades of Grey to satiate my inner angst. Better than nothing.
I forgot how running in the morning makes me hungry ALL day. I’m also in a much better, energetic mood. All good things.

I’ve had this gift card to Road Runner sports since Christmas that I haven’t used yet because there’s none in any convenient location to me BUT I have to go there anyway to get my Color Run race packet and…
NEW RUNNING SHOES FINALLY! My old Saucony’s gave out and I’m using Reebok’s now (which kind of suck)… ASICS HELLO?! Maybe.
I am excite.
Any other shoe recommendations? I run in the city on sidewalks and from time to time find some trails and am trying to get into half marathon running shape again.
So, this happened. I had to escape and run so I had the bright idea to run five miles to this supposed Lake around here without bringing water. I got there and took the wrong route and it was closed off. Plus, my legs kinda gave out so I started walking around and bought a bottle of vino on the way back.
After a gallon of water, stretching, and a hot shower, I feel a lot better.
There’s something about running in Colorado that makes my skin extra salty (and delicious) after a run.
Just something I wanted to remember.

It’s not raining now though and I went to bed in running clothes so I’m taking advantage of this shining opportunity, throat pain and all.

Still out of my peak running shape as this includes a lot of wind, hills, annnd a trip on my face in a puddle. Coooool.
Sad running thought of the day…
The faster I finish this run, the sooner I get to eat / go shopping for yogurt.
