panzanella salad (arugula, tomatoes, vinegar, mozzarella), two cocktails
a few strawberries dipped in sunflower butter
75 minutes advanced vinyasa
I’m still so sore (my quads are on fire) from squats TWO days ago that I was nervous for yoga. However, I DID A PEACOCK POSE AND HELD IT IN THE MIDDLE OF CLASS and my instructor stopped instructing class to watch me and told me that was fucking awesome and told the class how hard I’ve been working lately. I GLOWED. He’s also going to start a special series of classes to learn a certain routine to film. TO FILM. I want in but I don’t know if I’m good enough yet. Intimidating, much?
I am in some pain tonight. DON’T EVEN LOOK OR THINK ABOUT MY QUADS, THEY’RE ALREADY ON FIRE. So, not bad for the second day in the weight room? I’m doing some light cardio and steam rooming before I hit advanced vinyasa tomorrow (I don’t want to be too shaky).
This headstand variation tripod headstand is an advanced variation and really should not be practiced with out proper instruction from a experienced teacher come on lululemon people could get serious neck injuries trying to do this.
naked chicken salad, three buffalo wings, three snow crab legs, couple bites of key lime pie
an hour of hot hatha
Sooo… it was my brother’s birthday (the one who is going off to Afghanistan tomorrow) and so my family took him to Hooter’s. I had a boring chicken salad and stuck with protein and just a couple bites of dessert. Score. However, I asked for more carrots / celery with the family’s wings and I got:
UGH. WHAT. Unlimited dressing for free but my veggies cost extra? Then there was a huge family fight BUT at least I got out early enough to see my movie.
Teacher critiqued my forearm stand. I shouldn’t be so afraid to push my hips forward in order to avoid propelling over myself. He talked to me about my day for some reason and told me to come to an extra class he was subbing for. YES PLEASE. I saw some crazy stuff in class today - supreme crow pose, a beautiful sundial pose, and some crazy Brazilian type of yoga that I couldn’t keep up with (sounds like desore?). Anyway, I can hold a peacock better. Now I’m exhausted so have earned some reading and an early bed time. I’ll have to be well rested for either a run/yoga or double yoga before a midnight showing of Hunger Games.
So, it turns out my interview was actually three interviews (at least)! The company needs to fill four positions as soon as possible. *fingers crossed* I felt shy during the first meeting but we talked the majority about wine chemistry (when the interview was supposed to be about bioreactors, mostly). Haha, I LOVE wine chemistry! I opened up finally. Two of the positions are in support and I was heavily warned I was overqualified for them so I’m hoping I get called for the other job as an lab associate.
You’re going to New York City at the end of the month? Um, I love New York! What for? I hope you have a great time!
I haven’t been posting a ton over the past few days because I’m a firm believer in trying to stay positive and it’s best to project positive vibes and when I’m in a negative space, I tend to go back off from friends and the general public.
Anyway, my best friend is moving to Rome in two days, my brother is going to Afghanistan in a week, I have an IMPORTANT job interview tomorrow, I broke it off with a guy I’ve been seeing for a while, and I’m really worried about a friend’s eating habits (he just got into stage performance and has decided to not take my advice on nutrition and has started eating what he calls a “rice diet”… ugh.). So I’m “FINE” but not great and feeling a little uninspired lately. Sorry.
The thing is, yoga keeps me sane. Running keeps me sane. I’ve been doing such everyday. I’ve never been closer to having solid ab definition and being able to hold a scorpion pose! My back gets more flexible everyday!
The only thing that’s suffered is my nutrition. Well, and only so far as I had quite a bit of alcohol over the weekend. And sugar.I’m excited to go to the store for mucho chicken breasts and veggies though. My body and mind will thank me for it. More for that than hiding in bed like I want to do.
