How does it taste? Does it blend well?
Have you gotten Gold Standard ON whey before? I think it blends really well! (It tastes really good. It’s going to help with sweet cravings, for sure.)

Love this brand! I usually go for Double Rich Chocolate but I haven’t had a bad flavor from them yet.
I LOVE the double rich chocolate. I always get it (or have for the last three years). I just needed to shake it up a bit.

It looks more likely I’ll be filmed doing yoga… I just need to get my crow to tripod headstand down.

75 minutes advanced vinyasa
I’m still so sore (my quads are on fire) from squats TWO days ago that I was nervous for yoga. However, I DID A PEACOCK POSE AND HELD IT IN THE MIDDLE OF CLASS and my instructor stopped instructing class to watch me and told me that was fucking awesome and told the class how hard I’ve been working lately. I GLOWED. He’s also going to start a special series of classes to learn a certain routine to film. TO FILM. I want in but I don’t know if I’m good enough yet. Intimidating, much?

I am in some pain tonight. DON’T EVEN LOOK OR THINK ABOUT MY QUADS, THEY’RE ALREADY ON FIRE. So, not bad for the second day in the weight room? I’m doing some light cardio and steam rooming before I hit advanced vinyasa tomorrow (I don’t want to be too shaky).
This headstand variation tripod headstand is an advanced variation and really should not be practiced with out proper instruction from a experienced teacher come on lululemon people could get serious neck injuries trying to do this.
There was some sobbing involved.
However, at some point I saw my mat hanging out in the corner and just randomly decided to start practicing inversions… and you know what happened? I stopped. I feel… not great… but better.
I’ll start posting recaps again when I’m in a more positive space, guys. :)
… to actually use weights and squat racks and things. YOU UNDERSTAND.
They take your stats on your first time and ask you fitness questions and blahblahblah.
Trainer: What are your fitness goals?
Me: To be strong enough to survive the Hunger Games.
Trainer: Um… Should I write that in?
Me: I can write it in for you? Or you can just write ‘lower body fat percentage’.
My friend is going to be so embarrassed bringing me in there. It’s a goal. Also, I saw maybe ONE woman. Maybe. At least I have the locker room to myself?
In response to this.
I fixed it! :)
I have no idea what to expect.
I just know that if I keep up with yoga, get back into half marathon shape AND lift, I’ll feel like a superhero.
I know the big three are deadlifts, squats, and bench presses? I know to make sure I eat enough protein. Um, any other tips /advice / random thoughts of the day?

why are you posting this so late when i shouldn’t be eating?!
Hehe. Sorry. I tend to eat later dinners to discourage myself from over snacking before bedtime.
I cooked two chickens and bought a HUGE thing of spinach sooo… healthy meals for the rest of the week!

an hour of hot hatha
Sooo… it was my brother’s birthday (the one who is going off to Afghanistan tomorrow) and so my family took him to Hooter’s. I had a boring chicken salad and stuck with protein and just a couple bites of dessert. Score. However, I asked for more carrots / celery with the family’s wings and I got:

UGH. WHAT. Unlimited dressing for free but my veggies cost extra? Then there was a huge family fight BUT at least I got out early enough to see my movie.
… commences Monday. I bought a gym membership on some special deal. I have a friend who goes there. It feels out of the way but it was too inexpensive not to at least TRY.
THIS IS OFFICIAL NOW. The credit card has been processed.
Squats, deadlifts, and presses, here I come!

That looks so yummy! Do purple asparagus taste like green asparagus? And how did you prepare the salmon?
The purple asparagus tasted very similarly to the green! It was perhaps a little milder and sweeter though. The Florentine stuffed salmon I was lucky enough to find at Trader Joe’s. I know you can make it but whenever I’ve tried, the stuffing doesn’t stay in as nicely as say using chicken. The salmon can be TOO tender (if there ever was such a thing). I stuff salmon using this type of technique but you can choose your own, healthier technique (eg. use ricotta, spinach, garlic, other veggies instead of lots of butter and fattier cheeses if you want).

75 minutes hot advanced vinyasa
Teacher critiqued my forearm stand. I shouldn’t be so afraid to push my hips forward in order to avoid propelling over myself. He talked to me about my day for some reason and told me to come to an extra class he was subbing for. YES PLEASE. I saw some crazy stuff in class today - supreme crow pose, a beautiful sundial pose, and some crazy Brazilian type of yoga that I couldn’t keep up with (sounds like desore?). Anyway, I can hold a peacock better. Now I’m exhausted so have earned some reading and an early bed time. I’ll have to be well rested for either a run/yoga or double yoga before a midnight showing of Hunger Games.
