So ends an uninspiring day. I’m going to bed now (9 PM) to wake up at 5 AM for some 6 yoga action. Must. Wake. Up.

Advice from foam-rollin' friends?

Help?

A lovable piece of foam for $30 seems a little steep. I could get one with spikes, I guess, for $45. A CrossFit friend suggested I just use PVC pipe BUT I’m not that much of a badass (and ouch?).

I know oh-so little about foam rollers. Does it matter what kind I get?

Oh my gosh, I do that too. My first date with my current boyfriend I accidentally got extremely tipsy bordering on drunk and ended up having to stay at his place because I couldn’t drive. That was 16 months ago though, so I guess it worked.

Hahaha, yesss, it’s a careful balance. I feel like some of the best stories come from first dates.

On one first date, I thought my date was particularly boring and ended up hitting it off with and dating our bartender instead (later, of course).

So yesterday I had a good first date and okay, okay, sometimes I get nervous and drink more than I should? Yep, that happened… pretty easily after I had ran that morning AND had gone to hot yoga. So I was really craving green, colorful, delicious foods today. Sorry, body. Please accept lots of veggies in my remorseful state.

After dealing with idiots on idiots on idiots on Craigslist and getting nowhere trying to find tickets to a sold out show tonight, the Seattle box office released more tickets! So I snatched some up! YESSS! I just wanna dance!

Excuse me while I use this burst of excitement to run. Run, protein pancakes, work on my handstand, yoga class, happy hour, dancedancedance. Pretty awesome day, no?

One of those mornings.

It was just one of those mornings where I had finally slept well after a delicious dinner. I had probably eaten slightly over maintenance but it was all high quality, home cooked deliciousness. I woke up feeling great and excited about the day!

That was all until I realized I had slept late enough to miss my favorite yoga class and some tickets to a sold out show I was going to on Saturday got sold to a higher bidder on Craigslist after being promised to me. Craigslist- my version of Hell. I just wanna dance! D:

At least I’m at my friend’s place with the kettlebells. Kettlebells for breakfast!

Adults doing Cartwheels.

My advanced vinyasa class was fantastic! I did another headstand in the middle of the room for starters… as a warm up if you will. The teacher cleared a space for us to all go down the middle of the room and do… cartwheels. I was panicked. I dislike being watched by so many people. So I dawdled in the corner and made a friend who was as panicked as I was. I MADE A FRIEND IN YOGA (named Rachelle). This is a big deal to me since I’m so shy and always so panicked. The cartwheels were to help us learn how to exit more safely out of a handstand.

The instructor (my favorite / crush) remembers my name now and makes sure he pronounces it correctly and was really helpful to me today in aligning me properly in different headstands. He helped me into a shoddy peacock too! Good stuff.

My stomach feels better now after a good eating day! I’m going to finish my episode of Downton Abbey and prepare for a phone interview tomorrow (for a research coordinator position)! Exciting stuff.

That, and I get to go to my advanced vinyasa class tonight! Every time I’ve been in that class, I’ve been able to hold headstands in the middle of the room. I don’t care so much if I fall anymore.

Calming the nerves.

After being blown off for lunch, walking around for two hours, running for 35 minutes, working on taxes, and a session of hot yoga, I think a glass or two of wine is well deserved before a… *gulp*… first date?

Presidents Day Weekend...

… was good for my spirit.

I skipped out of Seattle for 3-4 days for Portland and Hood River with my friend. I may not have eaten the best and my body may be out of balance (for now) but, my soul is soaring. I discovered some great new wine / beer and a new show (Downton Abbey). A weekend of being able to openly communicate with someone, be accepted and loved by their family, and just being able to laugh made my sleep issues go away for one. I’m also more motivated to exercise, eat right, not be so dependent on people who don’t treat me well enough, and branch out for my slump.

I may have decided to plan a trip to Italy, Greece, and Spain for the summer (I mean, IF I WORK OUT HOW TO AFFORD IT). How exciting is that?! Dream come true!
