nice! way to plan ahead =) i heard if you eat some protein before a carby-treat, that helps too. (from the zone diet). hee and that looks yummy! i bought some brocolli today too. yumm. forgot apples though =x next time!
Haha, thanks! Yes, definitely get tart apples next time; they pair well with so many things I’ve noticed!
Do you (or anyone else) know what to do after consuming a bunch of sugar? Now, I just feel sluggish. Too much. Green tea? More fiber? Lots o’ H2O?
hard cider is amazing! Hard cider tastes like the Holidays when you were 13 but alcoholic (remember having sparkling cider when adults had champagne? Favorite brand so far is Woodchuck (summer blueberry infused one is the best, next to amber!)
Ooh, I’ll keep an eye out for the summer blueberry Woodchuck. Thanks! I noticed they had a fall one out that I may try next time…
i wanna see what loot you got!! ive been coveting lululemon running skirts for months now =x
I will take a photo for you when I get home! Also, you should get one! I’ve had some yoga pants that get washed three times a week from gross, sweaty Bikram that have already help up perfectly for two years. You could buy one as a reward for your partial marathon? :)
yogurt with mixed pb2 and walnuts + unsweetened apple sauce
peas, chicken breast, cheese crumbles
beef jerky, almond butter
split a nonfat latte
Insanity Fit Test, 5 minutes of Insanity Pylometrics, 60 minutes Bikram
STRENGTH: pushups, sit ups, squats
-300-400? (idk since Insanity was difficult to judge)
I messed my no sugar day #2 up! I researched which froyo flavors had no added sugar and when I got to the store, I got the WRONG chocolate flavor (there are THREE). Oops. Tomorrow I’m going on a real run again with my new Nike loot! Can you say motivation to get up and JUST DO IT? Also, I may have gotten lululemon loot as well… GOOD DAY, despite the “men-in-my-life awkwardness”.
So, apparently the juicer I want is sold out EVERYWHERE in Seattle. No big deal, I thought, because I’ll just order it online (go, Amazon Prime, go)! Nope. Sold out.
Some nice fella at the store (Bed Bath and Beyond) noticed my distress and said he could order me one! No shipping costs! It turns out he has one he is obsessed with and he majored in sports medicine or something. It was all fun and games until he asked if we could hang out sometime since he was new to town. Uh… okay…
Did I mention I hate first dates? I SUCK AT DATING. I am the worst.
I thought I could get past this and maybe I’d just have a new friend or something. Nope.
Guy: It was awesome meeting u today… i enjoyed talking and looking at u… haha
(strike 1 and 2 - grammar and the ‘looking at u’ line)
Me: Thanks for you help! I hope you get off work soon to enjoy the rest of the nice day!
Guy: are u?
(Twenty minutes go by.)
(strike 3… dude, sometimes I’m not glued to my phone.)
/ Now what? He has the power to mess up my juicer order.
(meaning I did the Fit Test and tried to do the first day…)
Switch Kicks: 82
Power Jacks: 44
Power Knees: 80 or 90? I lost count…
Power Jumps: I felt like an elephant jumping around to the people living below me so I stopped.
Globe Jumps: 33 individual / 8 circuits
Suicide Jumps: 12
Push-Up Jacks: 23
Low Plank Obliques: 56
I was surprised at how well I did well on the last one, a “tough” one. Thanks once again to yoga for the core.
I got five minutes into the pylometric cardio video before banging on my floor started. I was trying to jump softly and it’s 11 AM! I feel like an asshole. What does this person do? Work a night shift and need to sleep until noon? I’m not sure I can really continue on with Insanity in a city apartment. I guess I’ll try again at a different time of day… =/
Today is day #2 of no processed sugar / no grains. I want oatmeal SO bad…
Anyway, one of the nice things about completing the C25K is there’s no pressure to bust out a 45 minute run EVERY time. I can just focus on intensity and call it good in 20-25 minutes. I do plan to keep at the longer runs when I can though. I still have this goal of running an hour nonstop.
I’m trading this morning’s run for the Insanity fit test. Time to switch things up a bit. Go away, plateau!
And THEN I’m going on a quest for a juicer and fresh produce! Yep, I’m pulling the trigger on getting a juicer! I am excited.
almonds, greek yogurt / cottage cheese with mixed in nut butter, whey, and chia seeds
steamed peas, broccoli, and cauliflower with chicken breast and a side of chicken wing
blended coffee, unsweetened almond milk, and half a banana
beef jerky, cherries, almonds
steamed broccoli, cauliflower, and snap peas with sole and chicken breast
60 minutes hot vinyasa
Day 1 of having given up processed sugar / grains. I didn’t have any cravings although tomorrow I was invited for froyo and I’m really trying to decide whether that’s in bounds or not since I’ve decided plain greek yogurt is okay. THOUGHTS?
ANYWAY, I ate SO much lean protein and veggies today. I feel good again!
Ate candy last night b/c had to stay up late doing work and then felt like it’s a deserved last “hurrah” before Fightlafat and I do a strict limit on sugar starting today! Feel free to join us! I have an issue where even if I eat a lot of fruit-only (theoretically healthy), all the sugar in it…
We’re going to rock this, little lady! I’m finishing up some tea and work now and then I’m heading to the produce section of the nearest grocery store. I’ll let you know what goodies I get!
(All the ingredients you need to make chili, cornbread, or chowder in one cute, little package! … trying to stay busy looking at stuff in the bakery while my friends picked out cookies and apple fritters)

I’m not seeing any progress in the way I look even though my fitness is improving. I spent Friday and Saturday feeling guilty about how much sugar I was consuming so I’m doing something about it! Sunday I was planning on taking a rest day, but I went on a trail run instead (I miss trails living in the city!). And for the rest of the week, it’s time to reign the diet in. No processed sugar.
half a spicy tuna roll, octopus and tuna sashimi, ginger, cherries, whole wheat muffin with nut butter and superfruit spread
Starbucks 12oz light salted caramel frappuccino, Starbucks salumi bistro box, handful of broccoli and baby carrots, small glass of beer
ran 6K (new PR!), 60 minutes Bikram, 60 minutes vinyasa
OH, and did I mention I drank AT LEAST 120 oz of water?! YEYEAH. I dedicated today to catching up on sleep and doing my favorite fitness thing and just… taking care of myself. I feel like I’ve reset my mindset in a sense to be more positive and I feel like I’m back on track now! Now, it’s time for more Game of Thrones reading!
