Last nice day of Seattle? Today was nearly perfect. I had a good job interview. I spent the afternoon in the sun with a park picnic, a good friend, and a good book. I felt good in a bikini. I got to Whole Foods. I mean, really, the only things to have made it better would have been if my favorite yoga instructor taught today AND maybe if I were in the same city as a certain fella…
egg white scramble with goat cheese and avocado, light bread with superfruit spread
light bread with tuna and flax seeds, light bread with almond butter and banana
one homemade meatball
red wine, cioppino, bread slice, snickerdoodle cupcake (yeah, THAT happened)
30 Day Shred Level 3, 100 pushups done throughout the day, 60 minutes hot hatha, walking 2.5 miles
Caved and had a cupcake. It was delicious. I managed to stop at one. Annnd, I finally felt confident enough to wear the following in public (although it felt so short still) because HEY, I’m likin’ my running legs:
Today was my second time wearing just a sports bra and yoga pants in Bikram today. (Usually I have on a long, black tank as well.) I felt WAY more confident this time around. I sat in the front row (to see myself better in the mirror because I’m vain to make adjustments easier) and near the instructor because I’m trying to come out of my shell and form a relationship with them. I got used as an example! A “good form” example!
No sugar added froyo is in the works. Toppings: almonds and fruit. (Staying away from the cookie dough and brownie bites.)
half banana, chia seeds, natural peanut butter, an egg
light whole grain bread with superfruit spread and almond butter
steamed broccolini, quarter avo, grass fed ribeye
mean green juice
spinach, chicken breast, and chicken sausage, chocolate square
maybe I’ll have a cocktail later
Now I’m at +1600
45 minutes running
This morning’s run revved up my metabolism like no other? I’ve been hungry all day! I’ve been good though. Juicing was exciting AND veggie juice with added ginger IS pretty tasty. I had a teensy square of chocolate and sugar cravings satisfied. Now, I’m going to go to a birthday party and avoid mixed drinks. Just rye for this girl (if anything at all). Day #3 in a row of putting real clothes on. I’m doing pretty good, I’d say.
Saturday- cottage cheese (with pumpkin, half banana, chia seeds, raw cacao), celery, pear with almond butter, natural popcorn, paleo pasta, honeycrisp, flute of champagne (+1500)
Sunday- cocktails, banana, almond butter and superfruit spread sandwich, plain chobani with almonds, almond milk with strawberries blended in, acorn squash, meatballs in sauce, honey, some snack of some sort packed with protein (hmmm)? (projected +1600)
Friday- 30 Day Shred Level 3, 60 minutes hot vinyasa, 60 minutes walking (-600)
Saturday- just the walking around for errands (about 3 miles) (-150)
Sunday- dancing like a fool, 75 minutes hot vinyasa, walked 2 miles (-500)
Truth be told, I don’t exactly love the act of running.
It hurts, a lot. My knees, my hips, my shins, my feet, my lungs. At some point, something always hurts. I get disgustingly sweaty. It takes a long time to run any far distance, and sometimes that stresses me out when I don’t have much time…
Last night, I went out and was actually social! I felt uncomfortable at first because I hadn’t seen these friends for a while. However, they noticed and complimented me on how “great / fit” I was looking so that’s nice.
I had 2 hard ciders that fit into my macros! I stayed away from the french fries and cupcakes in public! However… I went back with a friend to watch a couple of episodes of Always Sunny in Philadelphia and just went a little crazy on some Doritos and dairy-free ice cream. Ugh, why? Alcohol and social activities lowers my willpower to nothing. I used to handle this by isolating myself (and hey, I saved a lot of money too) but I don’t want to live like that forever…
Well, today’s a new day! I threw away foods that made me binge-y (the rest of my oatmeal, cereal, and the leftover ice cream and sorbet). I had a breakfast of cottage cheese, pureed pumpkin, smashed banana, and mixed in cacao powder and chia seeds. Fiber-ific. I’m going to take a book to a coffee shop or to the park and enjoy PROBABLY the last Seattle sunny day. Then, when it gets all sunset-y and cools down, I will run my little heart out and do some yoga. Damage control and preparation for ANOTHER night out tonight. No more drinks though, methinks.
I am going to put on a skirt and actually do my mop-of-late head of hair and go to a birthday party. This is the first time I’ve worn real clothes (not yoga or running gear) for maybe… a week? MAYBE I should post a picture to commemorate this event?
So, I’m throwing on the Party Rock Pandora station. So far, so good.
I also think I earned a cocktail. There, I said it. It also helps with the awkwardness and brings about better stories.
nice! way to plan ahead =) i heard if you eat some protein before a carby-treat, that helps too. (from the zone diet). hee and that looks yummy! i bought some brocolli today too. yumm. forgot apples though =x next time!
Haha, thanks! Yes, definitely get tart apples next time; they pair well with so many things I’ve noticed!
Do you (or anyone else) know what to do after consuming a bunch of sugar? Now, I just feel sluggish. Too much. Green tea? More fiber? Lots o’ H2O?
