Make It Yourself Protein Bars - Low Fat "Majmum"...
fitvillains:
A few of you wrote in and let me know that protein bars were expensive buys for you, but you wanted a protein packed snack on the go for your workouts. Now, I’m not a big fan of protein bars, since they often are high in sugars and are PROCESSED (yes, even healthy foods can be processed), but you can minimize those two things by making them at home.
These are an awesome pre-post...

I just tried on J Brands size 26 jeans...
… And they fit!!! I’ve never been this size!
I think I’m finally done with my 145 plateau! You know what I changed? I started working out LESS and have been juicing for one meal a day. NOW I’m 143.

Mantra of the Day: What Makes You More Alive?
liliezencoach:
What is it that make you feel more alive?
Do more of that.
What thoughts bring you more happiness and peace?
Think more of that.
What makes me feel more alive? Yoga, cooking, feeling someone’s love, the sunshine, music, laughter with friends.
Contributing to society in scientific research brings me peace, I suppose.

2oz beets, 1-2oz ginger, 5-6oz apple (roughly 1.5apples), 5-7oz carrots. I used to work at a juice bar lol
Haha. I was wondering how you got to be so juice savvy! I’ll come to you from now on for my juice questions (or when I need solidarity in awkward guy encounters). If that’s okay, that is.

Whole Foods shopping!
(Using up my $20 for $10 deal)

What are delicious juice combinations?

Active rest day.
One healthy breakfast followed by a job interview followed by lunch with mother followed by ALL THE COFFEE I CAN GET before finishing another application.
I will have walked around three miles in this time. Let’s be honest, I’ll probably go to vinyasa today anyway… followed by Whole Foods. The produce section!

Job interview tomorrow.
So anxious. I should be preparing. All I want is red wine. Counterproductive?
I may be making the switch from a geneticist to immunologist? Yay.

run
complete two applications
work froyo into schedule with good friend since I didn’t yesterday
figure out tomorrow’s interview outfit (possible shopping ahead)
prep for interview

A little yoga triumph.
Today was my second time wearing just a sports bra and yoga pants in Bikram today. (Usually I have on a long, black tank as well.) I felt WAY more confident this time around. I sat in the front row (to see myself better in the mirror because I’m vain to make adjustments easier) and near the instructor because I’m trying to come out of my shell and form a relationship with them. I got...

New favorite running bra.
Three minute warm up, 45 minutes fairly steady run, three minutes of cool down, ten minutes of stretching and hydrating

Paleo "Pasta"
The most important part - the meatballs:
Take 1 lb. (16 oz) of extra lean ground beef and put it in a big bowl. Measure 1/2 cup almond flour into the bowl. Add in 1 egg, 4 mashed cloves of garlic, and salt, pepper, and italian seasoning (to taste). For a little extra oomph, I used truffle salt instead of salt and cooked the balls in truffle oil (I love truffle). Mix it all together with...

Yoga detox.
I’m in yoga bliss now that I’ve sweat out the remnants of last night’s garlic dinner and vodka. Poor mat mates. I probably smelled like I had just cleaned an italian kitchen.

My night:
An hour long bus ride outside of the city to a warehouse with awesome art and an open bar interspersed with a gay dance club.
I danced with only the energy I reserve for pylometric Insanity. I don’t feel guilty about the alcohol I had. Tonight brought me out of my comfort zone and exceeded all expectations! :D
Tomorrow might suck. I won’t go to bed until 3 AM maybe and I was...

Mighty Mouse: Why I Run →
missmightymouse:
Truth be told, I don’t exactly love the act of running.
It hurts, a lot. My knees, my hips, my shins, my feet, my lungs. At some point, something always hurts. I get disgustingly sweaty. It takes a long time to run any far distance, and sometimes that stresses me out when I don’t have much time…
Added bonus: amazing legs

Ramblings - Social Activity and Willpower
Last night, I went out and was actually social! I felt uncomfortable at first because I hadn’t seen these friends for a while. However, they noticed and complimented me on how “great / fit” I was looking so that’s nice.
I had 2 hard ciders that fit into my macros! I stayed away from the french fries and cupcakes in public! However… I went back with a friend to watch...

YES real clothes! I attempted that today. Ended up in running shorts and a hoodie.
Yes! Power in numbers! I TRIED yesterday and ended up in a Nike sports bra, jeans, and running shoes. Halfway there!
We’ll get it one day.
Pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick, and pull yourself together.

In an attempt to be social.
I am going to put on a skirt and actually do my mop-of-late head of hair and go to a birthday party. This is the first time I’ve worn real clothes (not yoga or running gear) for maybe… a week? MAYBE I should post a picture to commemorate this event?
So, I’m throwing on the Party Rock Pandora station. So far, so good.
I also think I earned a cocktail. There, I said it. It also...
