7. What Last Made You Laugh Until You Cried

Haha. A large group of friends and I went to a brewery for dinner before a movie a couple nights ago. Under the influence of a beer or two, we made plans to matinee movie hop to all the movies we wanted to see but didn’t want to pay full price for, stopping for drinks along the way. Examples: Breaking Dawn, Immortals. The thought of drunkenly watching Breaking Dawn at 11 AM or something with six guys still makes me giggle.

9. Your Christmas List

Oooh. Um. Lululemon swag (a colorful pair of yoga capris, a surge colored shirt, and a sports bra in red), Nike swag (running tights mainly), a new Tiffany key, money towards my Nikon D3000 repair, new jeans (since nothing fits), lingerie (same problem).

13. Favorite Memory of This Past Summer

It was a perfect day. The sun was out in Seattle. I had the day off work when most people didn’t so the parks weren’t too crowded. I had gone to yoga. My friend and I had a picnic in the park. We brought roast chicken, greek salad, froyo, and even made cocktails.

17. Last Awkward Situation You Found Yourself In.

On Thanksgiving, my sister and I went out to a bar afterward. Two people I had dated ended up showing up while I was meeting someone else. Eh, I could go on and on.

I skipped yoga today because I was so excited to try baking for my friend’s birthday. Good thing too or else I would have run out of time. I successfully made Jack and Coke cupcakes with whiskey chocolate granache. I screwed up my first attempt at the Mint Julep ones BUT the second batch turned out well. They were a hit! I’ll post a picture. I need more veggies tomorrow…

Up early...

… to make up the barre class I missed last night. Maaaybe I’ll make up the run too! *fingers crossed it continues to not rain*

On my way back, I thought I’d pick up some stuff to make cupcakes for my best friend’s birthday, who is a male from the south who likes to drink AND who is also a drag queen from time to time. I was thinking either Jack and Coke OR Mint Julep cupcakes for him AND Sparking Strawberry cupcakes for his drag counterpart?

I burned nothing, really, but at least ate somewhat well. The AM run turned into Tumblr procrastination and I didn’t make my PM barre class because Seattle traffic was SO awful. It’s okay since I haven’t had a rest day since Thursday. I did help my friend pick out a kitty though. My heart is happy.

wtf?? that is not what i do. we start from standing forward fold, then bind one leg, slowly move the other in, then bend the knees slightly to come up. i just don’t understand how you get the bound leg up from extended side angle!!

I cannot wait to try your version! We go from extended side angle then bind the leg that we’re bent toward (my arms are short so it took me a long time to be able to do this), then we tip forward and balance (I fall) on that bound leg and slowly drag the back leg up and bent.

  • I slept in (I need to stop doing that so much though)
  • It’s not raining and I can see the sun SO this means… a run (although it’s been a while)
  • I got carrots and apples to make juice
  • There’s still half a turkey in my fridge to get drunk off of it
  • My friend and I are going to pick him out a kitten of maximum cuteness. That kitten will be BFFs with my kitten.
  • Froyo.
  • Barre class with another friend.
  • A more delicious attempt at a Thanksgiving leftovers sandwich.
  • Skyrim and / or read A Clash of Kings

Tuesday- 9:30 AM barre class, 12:00 hot hatha, 8:00 PM friend’s birthday dinner

Wednesday- 12:15 barre and / or power yoga 5:30

Thursday- 4:30 PM barre class, 7:00 PM holiday party

Friday- 12:00 power yoga, birthday party

Saturday- REST

Sunday- 4:00 PM yin / yang yoga

My barre month pass ends this month and it’ll be too expensive to pick back up. However, I can afford $30 a month instead to use the gym a few blocks away from me andandand a friend of mine is going to teach me proper form on weights and whatnot. YESSS.

Did you know that juiced vegetables start losing their nutrients as soon as they’re juiced?

Yeah. It sucks because if you cut the recipe in half to actually be able to drink it all in a sitting, that’s twice as often I have to wash the juicer… which seems really monotonous and time consuming. It’s a good thing I like how they taste.

CONSUMED:

greek yogurt w/ orange / clementine, s’mores oatmeal, matcha green tea (350)

warm sake, edamame, sashimi (toro, escolar, salmon), two of each (spicy tuna, spider, and scallop roll), couple bites of bread pudding and green tea ice cream (idk…)

25 minutes of 30 Day Shred (which has gotten EASY, WHAT)

Going out to eat is still kind of difficult for me in terms of moderating how much of the deliciousness I eat. I don’t feel stuffed. I feel full, more than satiated, I overdid it A BIT. This is why I kept the rest of the day light and made sure I got at least some cardio in (the circuit training / 30DS) since I missed hot vinyasa (I got confused about the schedule and thought it was Sunday). I weighed myself Thanksgiving morning. After two weeks of not counting calories and cutting back on the cardio (running) and upping the strength training and hiding the scale, I’ve lost two pounds (140.6). I had never been below 142 as an adult. I probably gained them back in the following days BUT STILL. :D

I saw a friend I hadn’t seen since June. When we were alone, he goes, “Wait, can we talk about how awesome you look now?” (Feels good.) I haven’t been eating the best of course this holiday weekend. It continues as I go out to dinner tomorrow (for sushi at least though). And then from there, it should get better. Balance, right?

You know. I had such a great, great night. My family is hilarious. My dad is a phenomenal cook. I ran into an ex who admitted I looked great and later said to my sister he missed me. I met another great guy, maybe. It was all worth it. I’m still feeling lethargic though… Off to hot yoga to detox!

Another good food day. Also, I wasn’t even going to go to hot yoga but I saw my favorite teacher picked up a class AND I rewarded myself with yellow jeans afterward. Yellow makes me happy… when everything around is some random ass shade of grey.

In the morning, I’m helping my dad cook starting in the morning to eat in the late afternoon. Chopping and standing and running to the grocery store is work. Not hard, aerobic work… but still. What I’m trying to say is, I’m not worried about splurging at dinner. I only get my dad’s prized oyster stew once a year so I’ll enjoy it.

Ack, without power!

C’mon Seattle! You’ve handled far worse rain and wind! Kind of takes the running steam out of a person when there’s no steamy, hot water to look forward to (OR STEAK AND EGGS). I may go to hot yoga again (despite having sore, jello arms that can’t lift my kitten let alone hold plank) for the purpose of using the shower afterward.

And for now? Since I can’t work on online apps, it’s back to warm bed / kitten cuddle time with A Song of Ice and Fire.

A really really good food day! Also, I finally tried a full “yin” yoga. Ouch. It’s about stretching connective tissue. You hold postures for 3 - 10 minutes. I learned my inner thighs are super inflexible… for now… ;).

I rolled out my mat next to the wall behind the naked men and made my way to the undressing room. Then I went for it. I took it all off. In a sort of mindful state of shock, I crossed my arms and walked back to my mat and sat down. Quickly. Very quickly. But on my tiptoes to avoid excess bouncing.

Interesting!! I can see how it would assist mindfulness but I would probably be uncomfortable. Have any of you tried it/ thought about trying?

also, what must it be like if you’re on your period? EVERYONE WOULD SEE. AWKWARD. and if you used pads you wouldn’t be able to do naked yoga/would be the only one wearing something… ack. just no. clothing makes me so much more comfortable. also, i wear athletic clothes that wick away sweat… i’d be so much more slippery and self-conscious.

Fascinating. I think I’d like to try it once! There are no coed classes in my area to my knowledge though. Maybe next time I visit NYC…
