October 31st Recap.

CONSUMED:

dark chocolate oatmeal with sweet potato, melted banana, melted marshmallow, and cinnamon

banana and natural peanut butter, chocolate milk

egg, egg white, chicken sausage, spinach scramble with a side of guac and salsa

peach sorbet + almond butter, mean green juice, and homemade protein pudding

(I doubt I would have been as excited about this stuff six months ago.)

BURNED:

ran about 5K and ran some stairs (at least they were pretty…)

60 minutes hot vinyasa (I danced a lot while in down dog to the 90s R&B that played sooo ADDITIONAL ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED)

I struggled eating enough today (this never happens) but at least I hit my protein goal (about 80 grams). I struggled with my run but I’ll try again tomorrow… after my lululemon interview. (Nerves, go away.)

Halloween Saturday / October 29th

Oh, hey. Currently, I’m guzzling green tea like it’s my job or something. It’s cold out and these red horns have to be yellow in two hours time. AND THEN I will be fighting the good ol’ fight against pants for the rest of the night (like Rihanna in her “We Found Love” video… did I mention I have a new favorite workout song?). I mean, I may need some liquid confidence and this is why I’ve been trying really hard to eat well today especially… So I don’t feel guilty later.

CONSUMED:

sweet potato dark chocolate oatmeal with a dash of almond milk and a glob of natural peanut butter

egg / egg white scrambled up with a side of cooked ground beef (I was feeling iron deficient and carnivorous)

projected: spinach salad of some sort with some sort of protein (probably tuna because the chicken is STILL frozen… DRATS)

some undetermined amount of tequila (just being honest here)

BURNED:

does running around searching for last minute costume stuff and helping people with theirs count along with dancedancedance-ing later?

I won’t (I better not) go too crazy tonight. I am planning on running 6-7 miles and all tomorrow…

sounds like either way will be good. taking a rest could be good for ya body but if you push yourself out there, hope it goes well!! xx!

Thanks! I’m going to be pretty active today running errands and dancing so… I think all that will ease the soreness by tomorrow. So, I’ll just take it easy tonight and shoot for the long run tomorrow while focusing on nutrition today. :)

Should I do my long run this weekend?

I was planning on running seven miles this morning. I was NOT planning on doing a “for fun” pilates / barre class yesterday and being so sore today I feel the pain when walking from my butt and my legs are shaky even supporting my weight. (Maybe I overdid yesterday… Oops.) I don’t mind the soreness. I feel excited to have worked new muscles and what-not but this does not bode well for a long run, does it?

And then there’s tomorrow, my planned rest day with maybe some light yoga thrown in. However, I’m supposed to go “out” tonight (I’m in a group costume and everything) and I doubt I’ll get enough sleep or be hydrated enough Sunday to do it, if you know what I mean.

So, hope some of the soreness wears off today, or take it easy Halloween and shoot for tomorrow, or would it be so horrible to do another light run this weekend and do the long one on Monday? SORRY SO INDECISIVE, I’M JUST STILL SO NEW TO THIS RUNNING STUFF.

low carb tortilla wrap (hummus, olives, goat cheese, chicken sausage) and roast chicken

homemade froyo, trail mix, two glasses red wine

BURNED:

60 minutes barre3 (pilates/ballet)

60 minutes hot vinyasa

an hour of walking to and from

I refrained from going out to conserve energy for dressing up and going out tomorrow. Halloween! Instead, I got caught up with a girlfriend and she gifted me a bottle of red wine. So good. I am so sore from this barre3 class (my first one). I can’t believe I agreed to go to another one in the morning. 830 AM Saturday morning. Woof.

So glad I’m sticking to my half marathon training schedule. I hate getting out of bed most mornings but I never regret it. Also, I made myself homemade froyo and only ate half of it because I wasn’t hungry anymore and my sweet craving went away. YES. Moving in the right nutrition direction.

I was planning on going to hot vinyasa with my favorite favorite, instructor, Patrick but then there was some family drama to deal with. My siblings had a fight of epic proportions. Glass was broken, car keys were stolen, too much alcohol was consumed, clothes were thrown out. I’m glad I live on my own. THANK EVERYTHING. I think I’ll clean my apartment as thanks to it.

I met a rep in my yoga class yesterday (I was making an effort to be friendly and outgoing for once) who was auditing possible yoga ambassadors for her store. ANYWAY, she said I should apply and I could use her as a reference. SO I DID. I have retail experience. Sweet.

Last night...

… was day two of wanting to and NOT giving in to eating everything in sight. Last night I wanted Pop Chips and peanut butter and other salty things but I chugged some water and made myself go to bed. I feel a lot better this morning!

Just one of those mornings...

… when I hit snooze for an hour. It’s about 40 degrees outside (nearly freezing) and my bed is oh-so-warm. I will get this four mile run in now that I’m awake and hydrated. I will go to Bikram to ease my poor tendons and muscles. Everything is starting to feel ache-y.

AND THEN, I’m meeting someone for coffee in one of the most awkward situations in which I have to break it off with him.

I think I deserve froyo and to check out a new cocktail bar my friend is working at afterward as planned.

Not to mention filling out new job applications.
